SENSUOUS LIES OF THE GRIFTER CLASS
So, why do fake healers and false miracle workers mock medical science and promote fake creative miracles?
Because reality won’t get people to show up at their fake miracle saturated conventions at Redeemed Camp. If the impostors who run the healing meetings at Canaanland admit that faithful, God-fearing people have to endure long seasons of pain, utilize doctors, and pay medical bills, then their entire financial enterprises collapse. It collapses in on itself.
Charlatans need people to believe that they possess the power to make instantaneous creative miracles happen because that’s what brings the gullible victims in. And once they’re in, the grift wraps its evil tentacles around the prey and begins to squeeze them hard.
Ultimately, whether it’s the manufactured atmospheres of expectancy or retroactive medical miracles or staged insider prophecies or toxic legalistic threats or imaginary joint replacements, the cavernous theaters of the horror houses called churches reveal a much deeper, darker truth. And it’s this: the false gospel of miraculous power, perpetual health, unlimited wealth and extraordinary success cannot coexist with reality. It strips away the beauty of enduring steadfast faith and replaces it with high-pressure transaction-based grifts designed to line the pockets of the stage performers.
True Christianity doesn’t live in illusions and fantasies, and it cannot be bought with a $100 seed offering at an unHoly Ghost Convention. True faith doesn’t come by combing your hair with magic combs, wiping your face with magic handkerchiefs, praying to a raise magic rod, or sitting on miracle chairs.
True saving faith doesn’t demand that you scream loud enough to conjure up your miracle at a Shallow…oops…Shiloh Conference. It anchors your soul in the historic finished work of Jesus, giving you the grace to face the consequences of a sin-sick world with a sense of peace and hope and love for God and neighbor.
Real saving faith isn’t about screaming and shouting from a megachurch stage. True faith is seen in trusting in Christ Jesus alone for salvation in this world and the next, while, at the same time, enduring the reality of this sinful world that is slowly and painfully winding down, and doing it with dignity, humility, and a clear conscience. Don’t let the grifter class convince you otherwise.
True Christianity points directly to Jesus Christ and the scandal of the Cross. The Cross is the ultimate reality check. It reminds us that God did not promise us an escape hatch from physical pain or the dark valleys of a broken world. Instead, He gave us a Savior who suffered and died in the real world to take care of an infinite debt that we owe but could never pay.
Don’t be tempted to trade the eternal glory of the Cross for the cheap, sensuous lies of the grifter class.
