DONALD “JESUS” TRUMP

By Akin Ojumu

Maya Angelou is credited with the now famous quote, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” What she meant by that is that we should recognize and accept someone’s true character, especially the ones that announce themselves with screaming red flags, rather than make silly excuses for the person’s untenable behavior or wait for them to magically change.

How many times does a man have to show us he is possessed by the demonic spirit of the antichrist before we take him at his word? At what point do we let the reality sink in that this man we are sheepishly following has, by his numerous blasphemous utterances and deeds, proven himself to be an enemy of God?

To the fawning fans of Donald Trump who call themselves Christians, answering these questions honestly is a bit complicated because of their Trump Denial Syndrome. Until they close their eyes in death and find themselves in the forever burning flames of hell, the supporters of Trump will never accept the objective reality of the man’s hatred for God. With shut eyes, deafened ears, and seared heart, they’ll continue to be oblivious to the way their Dear Leader blatantly profanes the Name of Christ by his shameful conduct.

Take for instance what happened this month of April alone. On April 2nd, the Holy Thursday, at the White House Easter Luncheon, people who claim to be “Christian leaders” gathered at the event shamelessly and unabashedly deified Donald Trump by comparing his numerous political and legal troubles with the betrayal, suffering, and death of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Then came April 5th, Easter Sunday. On the holiest Day of the Christian faith, Donald Trump desecrated the celebration of the death and resurrection of Christ when he took to his social media platform to post an obscenity-laden rant in which he threatened the total annihilation of an entire civilization. He concluded the rant with, “Praise be to Allah.”

When you thought the man couldn’t go lower, Donald J. Trump upped the ante. On April 12th, in an apparent jab at Pope Leo for his criticisms, Trump shared an image of himself where he is portrayed as Jesus Christ. The AI-generated image posted on Truth Social depicts Donald J. for “Jesus” Trump as a divine leader who heals the sick and unto whom the citizens pray for their deliverance.

Of course, this lunacy is not unexpected. It is the logical outcome of the idolatrous behavior of the supporters of Donald Trump who continually feed his rapacious hubris with the idea that he is divinely ordained by God. When charlatans, heretics, and Gospel hucksters like Franklin Graham (the son of the late Billy Graham), Robert Jeffries (the redneck spiritual leader of the First Baptist Dallas megachurch), and Paula White (the bimbo of the American Christian Nationalism Movement) could equate Trump with the Lord Jesus Christ, it should come as no surprise that he himself believes that the J in his name is actually JESUS and not JOHN.

In his letter to the Church at Thessaloniki, Apostle Paul foretold of an imminent strong delusion that was going to come upon the world and the Church because the people rejected the truth of God.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
“The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

What is unfolding before our eyes is the continuing fulfilment of Paul’s prophecy. By distorting and twisting the Word of God, many in the Church have rejected the truth of God. Because of their aversion for the truth, they fell for Satanic deception. Consciously and intentionally, they hitch their wagon to a capricious, mendacious, foul-mouthed narcissist who pretends to fight their cause. In sheer idolatry, they pledge their felty to a deranged strongman whom they erroneously believe is a savior.

In His Olive Discourse, the Lord Jesus warned us that many false christs would emerge as we approach the end times. These individuals will put on a show of power and

Matthew 24:24-25
“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.”

While Donald Trump is, by no means, the antichrist, and it’ll be biblically erroneous to suggest that he is, there is no doubt that the man is operating by the spirit of the antichrist, considering all the characteristics of the antichrist manifested in him.

1 John 2:18
“Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.”

Adopting the cunning craftiness of the antichrist, Donald Trump pretends to be for God while working actively and overtly against God. By dangling the alluring bait of anti-Muslim, anti-woke, anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQYZ, or what have you, the Donald Trump markets himself as an ally of Christians and a fighter for moral values. Like dumb greedy fish that they are, self-professing believers swallow the bait and they get hooked by the worm of mendacity.

With their attention distracted by the socio-political red meat dangled before their eyes, self-proclaimed followers of Christ completely fail to see the way Trump is slandering the Name of Christ. They are unable to realize that because of Trump the Way of Truth is evil spoken of in the US and around the world.

Since its founding on July 4, 1776, there have been 45 different individuals elected to the Office of the President of the United States. Of these 45 men, none has claimed to be divine nor compare themselves to the Lord Jesus Christ, with the exception of one, Donald “Jesus” Trump.

There’s nothing more dangerous than a head of state with an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction at his disposal and who exhibits a god complex. A leader of a nuclear power nation who manifests a messianic mindset is a clear and present danger to humanity.

Whatever the case may be, the purposes of God cannot be thwarted. In their pride, man may delude themselves with the belief they are gods. At the end of the day, I reassure myself with the word of the Lord in Isaiah.

Isaiah 45:5-7
“I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the LORD, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things.”
