READ THE CONTEXT, KNOW YOUR ENEMY

By Akin Ojumu

I know you are familiar with John 10:10. You have read the text on countless occasions. It is one Bible verse that has featured prominently in your prayers, ad infinitum ad nauseam. You use it to bind Satan. And it is your go-to verse for repelling demons.

Guess what? Probably unbeknownst to you, all this while that youve invoked this verse, all you’ve done is twist the text and distort its true meaning.

John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

Read it in its proper context. The thief in John 10:10 is NOT the Devil. The thief referred to in this text are the wolves in sheep’s clothing who are devouring the flock of God. Those false shepherds of the Body of Christ who are fleecing God’s sheep are the real thieves the Lord Jesus had in mind in John 10:10.

False apostles, false prophets, false teachers, charlatans, scoundrels, and impostors of the Church work overtime to STEAL the Word of God from you. They do this so that they can KILL your faith, and by killing your faith, their goal is to DESTROY your eternal destiny.

So, here’s a little advice to you. Stop butchering the Word of God, identify the real enemy. The thief you need to bind is your Daddy in the Lord, not the Devil. That guy in suit, standing on the pulpit, holding the microphone, while cosplaying a man of God is the one from whom you need to flee.

Isaiah 6:9-10
“Go, and say to this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

I pray that the LORD God will open your eyes that you may see. In hearing, may your heart not be dull. May God deliver you from the clutches of false shepherds.
