NOPE! WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT
This is a video clip of a song titled, “We Need Another Pentecost.” It's a promo from a soon to be released single by Jesus Culture, titled “Pentecost.”
“We Need Another Pentecost” is a passionate cry to God to send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. It’s a call for a repeat of the Acts Chapter 2. They want to hear the sound of the mighty rushing wind and are desirous of cloven tongues as of fire.
To which I say:
“Nyet!!!”
“No way, Jose!!!”
“Mba!!!”
Last time I checked, Pentecost is a one-time occurrence. We most certainly don’t need another one. God has already sent the Comforter. Our Helper, the Holy Spirit, lives within us.
A call for another Pentecost is a call for a different spirit, which is not the Holy Spirit. The quest for a repeat of Acts Chapter 2 is a pursuit of the unholy spirit. Those making such a call do not have the Spirit of Christ in them and do not belong to God.
Romans 8:9
“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.”
By their theological fruits we shall know them. Out of the doctrinally abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. From the lyrics of a Christian song is revealed the theological depth of the Christian musician. You can always determine the doctrinal purity of a Christian singer from the message of the songs he produces.
Jesus Culture, for those who don’t know them, is the musical band which originated from Bethel Church, Redding, California. The band is made up of a bunch of theologically inept individuals who produce doctrinally unsound music. These are folks belonging to a congregation of the untaught and they are members of an assembly of the badly taught.
And it’s not at all surprising. They belong to Bethel Church, Redding, one of the most heretical Christian denominations in the world today. This is a place given to all sorts of spiritual hocus-pocus such as grave sucking, gold dust, and angel feathers.
Do not be deceived. Watch the song you listen to. Not every song named Christian is Christian music. And not every singer who calls themselves Christian is a Christian musician.
Juvenilized Christianity leads to immature Christians. Superficial theology leads to superficial songs. Immature, juvenile doctrine leads to immature, juvenile music.
