RIDICULOUSNESS OF PREACHING PANTS

David Crank is the founder and lead pastor of Faith Church which, according to their website, is “a fast-growing, multicultural, multi-site, nondenominational church. With four campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri, two in the West Palm Beach, Florida area, one location in Fairview Heights, Illinois and Online; the church was recognized in 2017 as Outreach Magazine’s 53rd Largest Church in America.”

Pastor Crank is so heavily anointed that even his dogs and pants (i.e., trousers) can and do preach. At least that’s what he claims in this video clip. So heavy is the presence of God in his life that everything he owns is a preacher of some sort. House, automobile, shoes, shirts, you name it, they all preach.

While the particular “gospel” these things preach remains unclear, I believe we could each use a pair of preaching pants too. Just imagine how many souls would have been won for Christ if all we have to do is put on our preaching pants and simply walk around the marketplace? What a revival that would be in our cities today.

Now, if all that sounds ridiculous to you, you are not alone. This is exactly what happens when the theology of a preacher is faulty. Shallowness of depth in the Word of God manifests itself in outrageous utterances and outlandish claims. When the doctrinal foundation of a pastor is unsound, he is bound to say ludicrous things.

You cannot be an effective minister of the Gospel without an understanding of Scripture nurtured from a rich soil of accurate and veritable knowledge. Right theology and sound doctrine are the outflow of a life that has been properly and adequately nourished in the spiritual dietary supplements of true knowledge of Scripture. When the theology is right and the doctrine is sound, the knowledge of God is bound to increase exponentially. The end result of all of these is a deepened love for God.

When the Christian faith is built solely on esoteric experiences and mystic occurrences, which is the case with many in the Church today, the mind is totally disengaged. The disengaged mind is the enemy of the knowledge of God, and it is the friend of the false teacher.

Erroneous teachers thrive when their victims deliberately suspend their own mind. Impostors tend to prosper when Believers willingly put their God-given ability to reason under lock and key. To know God, you must apply your heart, soul, mind, and strength to His Word. The Christian that fails to engage his faculties is bound to forever remain an easy prey of charlatans.

BECAUSE JOB DIDN’T TITHE, HIS LIFE BECAME TIGHT

By Akin Ojumu Being the trust-but-verify guy that I am, while fact-checking a social media post by one of my High School friends, in which Bishop David Oyedepo was quoted to have linked the adversity of Job to his tithing habit, I was shocked, but not at all surprised, to find a 2019 video that did indeed confirm what my good friend shared.  In Bishop Oyedepo's telling, the real cause of Job's afflictions was his failure to pay tithes. According to him, God removed Job's divine security and allowed Satan to buffet him with calamity because the man was a habitual tithe defaulter.
