THE ELUSIVE VACCINE AGAINST STUPIDITY

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIAID), under the able leadership of Dr Anthony Fauci, supports and conducts research to identify new vaccine candidates to prevent a variety of infectious diseases, including those for which no vaccines currently exist. In addition, NIAID-supported research also aims to improve the safety and efficacy of existing vaccines.

To give you an idea of the vastness of NIAID’s vaccine research effort, consider the list below:

Scientific research has led to the development of numerous types of vaccines that safely elicit immune responses that protect against the above infections, and researchers continue to investigate novel vaccine strategies for prevention of existing and emerging infectious diseases.

Recent decades have brought major advances in understanding the complex interactions between the microbes that cause disease and their human hosts. These insights, as well as advances in laboratory techniques and technologies, have aided the development of new types of vaccines.

As much as we’ve tried, though, the one epidemic for which we have consistently failed to find a safe and effective vaccine is stupidity. Foolishness is a disease that has remained a nut too tough to crack. Despite millions of dollars pumped into the research, this is a scientific discovery that has remained elusive so far. No amount of hypothesis has yielded any positive result and all experiments have failed so far.

Until such a time when we achieve a scientific breakthrough in this area and come up a good vaccine candidate, the stupid people must continue to bear the consequences of their stupidity. But you can trust us to keep trying and never to give up. We have no choice anyway, Dr Fauci will not let it rest. The man cares too much, even for those adults who choose to be stupid.

BECAUSE JOB DIDN’T TITHE, HIS LIFE BECAME TIGHT

By Akin Ojumu Being the trust-but-verify guy that I am, while fact-checking a social media post by one of my High School friends, in which Bishop David Oyedepo was quoted to have linked the adversity of Job to his tithing habit, I was shocked, but not at all surprised, to find a 2019 video that did indeed confirm what my good friend shared.  In Bishop Oyedepo's telling, the real cause of Job's afflictions was his failure to pay tithes. According to him, God removed Job's divine security and allowed Satan to buffet him with calamity because the man was a habitual tithe defaulter.
