GIVING YOUR TITHE TO THE POOR INVITES THE DEVOURER INTO YOUR LIFE

This is “gospel” according to Jesse Duplantis.

The seed must be put in a fertile soil for it to accomplish the impossible in life. If you take the tithe, or you take the first fruit, or you take the seed, because you are moved by compassion and sympathy, and you make it alms, you changed the rate of exchange and purpose. If you take the tithe, first fruit, or the seed, and you make it alms, you change the rate of exchange and purpose.

Why am I blessed and I've never had a deficit in 34 years? Because I never changed my tithe into alms, I never changed my seed into alms, and I never changed my first fruit into alms. Because you see, if you do that, then the rate of exchange goes back to dollar for dollar.

That's why people don't believe in prosperity. They took their tithe, they took their first fruit, they made it alms. I'm not against giving to the poor, but you just changed the rate of exchange on the tithe, you turned it into alms. So, God can't keep the windows of heaven open, God can't keep the devourer from eating what you just did. 

Or if you went to a place and a guy really moved you, and instead of sowing your seed into a fertile ground, you get moved by compassion and sympathy. If you do that, God will let the devourer eat your harvest. That's why some people can make all kinds of money and be broke three years later because they were moved not by obedience, not by generosity, not by faith and reward, but by compassion and sympathy.

If you took a portion of your tithe and a portion of your first fruit and a portion of your seed and changed it to alms, God will not open the windows of heaven for you, and everything will still break down in your life. If you turned your 10 percent into alms, if you turned your first fruit into alms, if you turned your seed into alms, God can't stop the devil from devouring your harvest because you changed the rate of exchange and its purpose of what it was supposed to do.

Think about it.

BECAUSE JOB DIDN’T TITHE, HIS LIFE BECAME TIGHT

By Akin Ojumu Being the trust-but-verify guy that I am, while fact-checking a social media post by one of my High School friends, in which Bishop David Oyedepo was quoted to have linked the adversity of Job to his tithing habit, I was shocked, but not at all surprised, to find a 2019 video that did indeed confirm what my good friend shared.  In Bishop Oyedepo's telling, the real cause of Job's afflictions was his failure to pay tithes. According to him, God removed Job's divine security and allowed Satan to buffet him with calamity because the man was a habitual tithe defaulter.
