SORCERIZED CHRISTIANITY

By Akin Ojumu

Witchcraft, wizardry, and sorcery are part and parcel of the African experience. You can’t be an African and not be familiar with witches and wizards. In the dark continent, the mere mention of warlocks and wizards brings a foreboding sense of fear and reverence.

But what exactly is witchcraft? What does wizardry mean? Who is a warlock? How do you identify sorcery? What does the Bible say about these things?

I decided to pose these questions to AI. Immediately, the modern-day technology wizard spat out the following response.

"In the Bible, witchcraft is portrayed as a form of sorcery and divination that is forbidden and considered an abomination to God. It encompasses practices like casting spells, communicating with spirits (both living and dead), and attempting to manipulate events through supernatural means. The Bible consistently condemns these practices, emphasizing that God alone is the source of true power and guidance.”

Witchcraft, wizardry, warlockery, and sorcery have many cousins. Among them are fortune-telling (read that as modern-day prophetic ministry) and necromancy (that’s the contemporary apostolic ministry). In fact, witchcraft, wizardry, warlockery, and sorcery can all be rolled under one umbrella word. Shamanism.

Shamans are individuals who have access to and influence in the spirit world. Such persons are known to possess and demonstrate supernatural power. Spiritual encounters are common to shamans. They frequently travel to spiritual dimensions and receive visitations from angelic beings, aka demons. Shamans are known to engage in repetitive chanting and incantations. During their rituals, shamans typically enter a trance-like state of altered consciousness where they are seen to jerk violently and shake uncontrollably, fall hard on the floor, roll back and forth, and speaking unintelligible gibberish.

Now, it may interest you to know that many of the shamanic practices described above have now found their way into contemporary Christianity. In their hunger and quest for spiritual power, church folks have imbibed these Satanic customs, and they are now so ingrained into popular Christian culture that their occultic origins have been completely masked. Because church folks consider these Satanic counterfeits to be true spirituality, they hail them as the powerful move of God in our day.

Allow me to show you some of the things that many of you who are reading this commentary have bought into that are actually rooted in shamanism.

Realms & Portals
Gaining the power and ability to access realms and portals has become a popular pursuit of the vast majority of folks you find in the churches today. Preachers who talk a lot about realms and portals are sorcerers. Anytime you hear a pastor brag about his spiritual encounters and angelic visitations, you should know you are being initiated into witchcraft.

Celestial Travels
Every single one of the false apostles and false prophets that you hold in high regard and thought are highly spiritual are frequent flying celestial travelers. They tell stories of their many expedition to the heavenly realm where they met all sorts of dead people and characters mentioned in the Bible. These impostors are spiritists trying to lure you into the occult and necromancy.

Levitation & Teleportation
What about the deeply spiritual sounding folks who regale you with stories of astral projection, bi-location, levitation, and teleportation. Well, I hate to break it to you. They are all witches looking to steal your soul for the devil.

Decree & Declare
You have as your spiritual fathers and spiritual mothers eloquent smooth talkers who teach you to decree, declare, command, and confess your wishes and desires. Guess what? Those who teach such ideas are nothing but New Thought mystics training you on the mysticism of mesmerism.

Chanting & Groaning
The new rave in Christian cycles in Nigeria these days are the headband wearing or bandana spotting musicians who encourage you to chant and repeat the same words or phrases over and over again in order to gain spiritual power. These are shamans enticing into magic and pulling you down into the dark underbelly of wizardry.

Meditation to Manifestation
If you belong in a denomination where the pastor teaches you to meditate on and confess Bible verses for hours and hours in order to alter your realities and manifest your desires, you should know that your pastor is a sorcerer training you on the intricacies of sorcery.

Leave and You Die
Many of you reading this belong in a denomination where the pastor issues a thinly veiled threat to members that if you left the denomination for another one your firstborn child would die. You must know that you belong in a witch coven and your pastor is a witch.

Charms & Talisman
Your  should know that your pastor is pulling you into sorcery if he tells you he can pray over combs and handkerchiefs that you can then use to ward off misfortunes or attract good fortunes. Only in the occultic shrines are members told to sit on chairs over which the priest has laid his hand so that they can receive supernatural breakthroughs. The pastor who asks his members to look toward the magic wand he is holding in his hand as they pray for a miracle is a mere wizard pretending to be a pastor.

Those of you who have been involved in one or more of the aforementioned practices, it’s important you understand that you have been initiated into witchcraft, wizardry, warlockery, and sorcery. You must know that anyone who soil themself in this evil is an abomination to the LORD.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12
“When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.”

Since the Garden of Eden, Satan’s major focus has been to divert human hearts away from worship of the true God (Genesis 3:1). He entices humans with the suggestions of power, self-realization, and spiritual enlightenment apart from submission to the Lord God. Witchcraft is merely another branch of that enticement. To become involved in witchcraft in any way is to enter Satan’s realm (Source: Got Questions).

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.””

Heres my appeal to all of you who not only engage in these satanic practices but encourage others to do the same. If you care at all about your soul and your eternal destiny, you will flee from this abomination.
