The Bible is not a voodoo talisman
Keeping it under the pillow will not prevent nightmares
The Holy Bible is not a rabbit’s foot
Wearing it around the neck will not bring good luck

The Bible is not an incantation charm
Chanting it will not fend off witches and wizards
The Holy Bible is not an abracadabra amulet
Hanging it on the doorway will not deter burglars

The Word of God is to be studied
It’s only as useful as its content that you know
The Truth of God is to be understood
It’s the knowledge of it in your heart that protects

The Precept of God is to be imbibed
Consistently doing what it says is what makes one free
The Statutes of God are to be observed
It’s the keeping of it that gives life

Determine to make the Law of God your delight
His compassion will grant you life
Resolve to meditate on God’s Precept
Your adversaries will be put to shame

Decide to wait on God’s Word
Your salvation will be made complete
Press to follow His divine Instructions
Comfort will be yours always

Choose to obey the Command of God 
You will never walk in darkness
Commit to surrender to God’s Will
He will show you the way to go

BECAUSE JOB DIDN’T TITHE, HIS LIFE BECAME TIGHT

By Akin Ojumu Being the trust-but-verify guy that I am, while fact-checking a social media post by one of my High School friends, in which Bishop David Oyedepo was quoted to have linked the adversity of Job to his tithing habit, I was shocked, but not at all surprised, to find a 2019 video that did indeed confirm what my good friend shared.  In Bishop Oyedepo's telling, the real cause of Job's afflictions was his failure to pay tithes. According to him, God removed Job's divine security and allowed Satan to buffet him with calamity because the man was a habitual tithe defaulter. Because Job didn't tithe, his life became really tight. Here is the Bishop in his own words: “You can't see anywhere where Job tithed. So, his blessing was not secured.
