THE GOP GATHERS AT THE SHRINE OF THEIR GOD

A gun toting lunatic – wearing a tactical vest and carrying assault rifles with high-capacity magazines – walked into the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, barricaded himself inside, and shot dead, in cold blood, 19 children and two teachers.

The 2022 Annual Convention of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the nation’s preeminent gun advocacy organization, kicks off today in Houston, Texas, less than 300 miles from the grounds where the blood of 19 children and two teachers was spilled.

The lineup of Speakers billed to address the conclave of idol worshipers include disciples of the gun god such as the forever lying narcissist Donald Trump, carnival baker Texas Governor Greg Abbott, the two Senators representing the state of Texas, the most hated man in US Congress, Ted “Rafael” Cruz, and a man who has exceeded his mechanical limit, John Cornyn, as well as several other followers of the gun god in the GOP.

Less than 72 hours after 19 little children were mowed down with guns manufactured and sold by the NRA, the Republican politicians gather at the shrine of their god to offer oblation and sacrifice. Well before the spilled blood of the innocent children massacred in the Robb Elementary School, Uvalde, Texas dried up, the GOP worshipers of the god of instrument of mass murder go down to the temple of their god to receive his blessing for a job well done in the slaughter of 21 people.

This is another proof that the Republican Party does not care about the massacre of little children. These people are not at all concerned about the culture of gun violence in America. The heart of a man is always where his treasure is. The “thoughts and prayers” are perfunctory, and the expression of horror at the murder of little children is all a lie.

Where they are this weekend, at the NRA Convention, is an indication of what’s most important to them. In their eyes, the right to bear arms trumps the right to live long. The gun god is their master, and their lord is the deity of the instrument of mass destruction.

BECAUSE JOB DIDN’T TITHE, HIS LIFE BECAME TIGHT

By Akin Ojumu Being the trust-but-verify guy that I am, while fact-checking a social media post by one of my High School friends, in which Bishop David Oyedepo was quoted to have linked the adversity of Job to his tithing habit, I was shocked, but not at all surprised, to find a 2019 video that did indeed confirm what my good friend shared.  In Bishop Oyedepo's telling, the real cause of Job's afflictions was his failure to pay tithes. According to him, God removed Job's divine security and allowed Satan to buffet him with calamity because the man was a habitual tithe defaulter.
