INVIOLABLE CONTRACT WITH YAHWEH

Image
By Akin Ojumu With Sinai Mountain bellowing with thick smoke, thunder, lightning, quaking, and loud trumpets, YAHWEH laid down the terms of His contractual agreement with the children of Israel. If they kept their end of the bargain and they chose to obey all of His commandments, YAHWEH promised to bless them beyond measure. “And if you will indeed obey my commandments that I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, he will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil. And he will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.” (Deuteronomy 11:13-15). Should they, on the other hand, decide to breach the contract, catastrophic consequences would be the result. YAHWEH made it clear to them that failure to keep even one of the commandments would lead to severe ramifications. “Take care lest your heart ...

SIN, DEATH, FLOOD & FOSSILS

Image
By Akin Ojumu By definition, fossils are the preserved remains, or traces of remains, of ancient organisms. The word fossil comes from the Latin word fossus, meaning “having been dug up.” Fossils are often found in rock formations deep in the earth. Fossilization is the process of remains becoming fossils. Fossilization is rare. Most organisms decompose fairly quickly after they die. For an organism to be fossilized, the remains usually need to be covered by sediment soon after death. Sediment can include the sandy seafloor, lava, and even sticky tar. Over time, minerals in the sediment seep into the remains. The remains become fossilized. Fossilization usually occurs in organisms with hard, bony body parts, such as skeletons, teeth, or shells. Soft-bodied organisms, such as worms, are rarely fossilized. Without death there can be no fossils. For fossils to form, death must occur. Until sin entered the world, there was no such thing as death. It was sin that ushered in death. Human sin...

TINUBU IS COURTING DISASTER

Image
Akin Ojumu At the expiration of their one-week ultimatum given to the Nigerien military junta who ousted President Mohamed Bazoum in a bloodless coup d’etat in July, Bola Tinubu convened a meeting of ECOWAS leaders in Abuja on Thursday.  In a statement released following the meeting, the West African leaders called for the immediate activation and deployment of the regional standby force to restore constitutional order in Niger Republic. The Tinubu led group unnecessarily heightened tension in the region by ordering their militaries to get locked and loaded ready for war. Hellbent on proving his detractors wrong, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is foolishly leading his fellow out of touch ECOWAS leaders in a pissing contest with the Nigerien coup plotters. To establish himself as the Commander-in-Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces, and not merely the boss of a mob of violent hooligans and bloodthirsty miscreants, the Aso Rock squatter is flexing his atrophied muscles in front of a global audience. WHERE THE ROAD LEADS

Image
By Akin Ojumu Built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets with Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, the tenets of Christianity have been carefully preserved and jealously guarded by those to whom the faith was first delivered. Knowing that savage wolves will come after they are gone who will not spare the flock, these righteous men built a wall of protection around the faith for which they were the guardian. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Early Christian Fathers codified the Canon of the faith in writing. Their Gospels and Epistles, together with the Torah, constitute what’s known as the Holy Bible. This sure Word of Prophecy is the pillar upon which Christianity stands. A Christian faith that conforms to what’s written in the Bible is Biblical Christianity. But just as the Early Christian Fathers feared, savage wolves broke into the Christian assemblies. Well before their departure, false teachers and false prophets had already infiltrated the Church, po...

BANALITY OF CARNALITY

Image
By Akin Ojumu Church business blasting and booming Cathedrals vast and looming Pastors festooned in flair and flamboyance Deacons costumed in silky extravagance All shining and dazzling on the outside Yet rotten and stinking on the inside Unregenerate souls sinning and rejoicing Reprobate minds preening while perishing God’s shepherds, what are you doing? Do your job, teach the Bible O man of God, are you listening? Obey God’s Word, preach the Gospel Renounce all the storytelling Bible is quick and powerful Denounce all the yarn spinning Gospel is sweet and delightful Gaze into the perfect Law of Liberty Avert your heart from worthless things Grab hold of the sure Word of Prophecy Deter the pull of worldly trappings

FALSE PROPHETS BEGET FALSE PROPHETS

Image
By Akin Ojumu For just the itty-bitty sum of $425, Kris Vallotton wants to turn you into a modern-day prophet. At less than the price of a fairly decent suit at Nordstrom, the resident prophet at Bethel Church, Redding, California, plans to transform you into the Jeremiah of our day. If you are wondering whether Kris Vallotton can actually deliver on what he is promising, it’s important to examine his prophetic antecedents. For those wanting to determine whether they’ll get a prophetic bang for their bucks, here’s something you should know about this man who’s promising to confer on you the mantle of Elijah. In 2020, Kris Vallotton was one of the MAGA prophets who claimed God told them that Donald Trump was going to win re-election. The man, who is also the co-founder of Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, announced to the whole world that God had assured him of Trump’s second term. He claimed God confirmed this to him in three dreams in one night. “This decree,” said prophet Vallo...

A NATION IN FREE FALL

Image
By Akin Ojumu Nothing good can come out of a darkened soul. It’s delusional to expect a bad tree to produce good fruit. The fruit of a poisonous tree is always poisonous. To eat from it is suicidal. A nation cannot endure for long when the worst of the people are its leaders. When the vilest in the land are in control, the nation withers and dies. Anarchy, chaos, and upheaval are the results, when a mob of vagabonds, scallywags, and lowlifes rule. Flourishing nations always put their best people forward at all times. In the nations that thrive, the best and the brightest tend to hold the highest offices in the land. For a land to enjoy peace and prosperity, miscreants and scoundrels must be kept far away from the seat of power. When flourishing nations make the mistake of handing the keys to the kingdom to a hoodlum, they quickly cross correct and rectify their error. Upon realization of their folly, they institute a corrective and preventive action plan to make sure it never happens a...

DON’T GO BEYOND WHAT’S WRITTEN (PART II)

Image
“To Teach Error is to Invite God’s Wrath” By Akin Ojumu False teachings poison the Christian soul, and false doctrines are toxic to sound mind. No true follower of Christ will be tolerant of erroneous doctrine. You can’t call yourself a Christian and excuse false teachers or try to explain away their false teachings. To accommodate Biblical error is to give aid and comfort to the enemy of Christ. Fending off false teachers is a matter of life and death for any true believer. Rebuffing false teachings is the difference between spending eternity in glory and burning forever in the lake of fire. Developing the requisite skills to recognize a false teacher is, therefore, an existential necessity for any believer.  All Christians are called to follow the example of the Berean believers. Adopting the Berean posture of healthy skepticism is vital for the survival of any Christian. To be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil in these Last Days, the followers of Christ must have thei...

DON’T GO BEYOND WHAT’S WRITTEN (PART I)

Image
“False Teachers Scratch Itchy Ears” By Akin Ojumu Keenly observant Christians are getting fewer in number the further we go into these Last Days. As the events of these perilous times unfold, the Church seems to be losing the sophistry required to discern truth from error. It has now become customary for Christians to go the whole hog in accepting and respecting anyone who comes along claiming to be a man of God speaking on behalf of God. Back when I first got saved, a clear line of demarcation existed between those considered Christian ministers and those regarded as charlatans. In those days, for instance, a man like TB Joshua was dismissed as an impostor. Ostracized and rejected, his Synagogue temple was looked upon as a place where Satan dwells. By the time TB Joshua died in 2021, however, not only had the “son of the Devil” amassed millions of followers globally, but he also enjoyed godlike status in the eyes of his Nigerian followers. Worst still, unbeknownst to many Nigerian Chr...
